Dr Soumya Lanka MBBS, MRCGP, DRCOG, DFFP, DCH is a fully qualified GP and Aesthetic Doctor from a Surgical background. She has worked at the prestigious St Andrews burns and plastics unit at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, Essex. She specialises in facial aesthetics including (allergan) & Dermal fillers (juvederm), Fat dissolving injections (Aqualyx), Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy for skin and hair rejuvenation, Hair growth treatments, Obagi Medical Skin Care and minor surgical procedures.

Dr Raghuram Lanka works as a Speciality Doctor in Anaesthesia in Southend University Hospitals NHS Trust and has been a part of the NHS since the last 21yrs. He is the cofounder of Skin Sense GP Clinic and brings in his expertise in Hair Restoration Surgery, PRP, IV Nutrition and Plexr Soft Surgery. He is an Associate Member of ISHRS (International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons) and BAHRS (British Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons) When not working, he likes to spend his time with family and playing Badminton.

Mr Jayanthi is a Senior Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeon. His expertise includes treatment of gallstones, heartburn and hiatus hernias and other hernias.

Mr Jayanthi graduated from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, one of the preeminent medical institutions in India. He subsequently completed post-doctoral research at the University of Oxford. Subsequently, he pursued advanced surgical training in Wales and gained specialised experience through focused fellowships at world-renowned centres of excellence, including the ICENI Centre in Colchester (for keyhole surgery), St. James University Hospital in Leeds (for cancer surgery), and the Ethicon Bariatric Fellowship at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton (for weight loss surgery).

Mr Jayanthi is the first surgeon in the United Kingdom to perform a robotic oesophagectomy for cancer. He continues to perform a diverse range of complex operations both laparoscopically and robotically. Additionally, he employs advanced endoscopic procedures to remove early cancers and treat pre-cancerous conditions.

Mr Karan Wadhwa

Mr Karan Wadhwa is an experienced consultant urological surgeon practising in Essex. He can treat a wide range of urological conditions, including prostate cancer diagnosis, benign prostate enlargement, urinary tract infections/prostatitis, foreskin/scrotum problems and blood in the urine.

Mr Wadhwa did his undergraduate studies at the University of Nottingham in 2006 before undertaking his medical training in Nottinghamshire and surgical training in the Southwest. As an academic clinical fellow, he completed his urological training in the East of England with Cambridge University, where he would also be awarded a PhD for his research in the detection of prostate cancer in 2015, funded by a competitive grant from the Medical Research Council. This has led to the innovation of the use of MRI imaging scans in diagnostics for prostate cancer. He trained further at other hospitals in the region, including Addenbrookes, Ipswich, and the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital.

Aside from being a dedicated urologist, Mr Wadhwa is also passionate about education and is an associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy. As both an associate and honorary clinical lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University, he leads educational programmes and mentor’s cohorts of medical students. Mr Wadhwa has multiple publications covering a range of urological topics, which have been presented at several national and international conferences and have been recognised with awards and prizes. His clinical interests include minimally invasive renal surgical techniques including robotic total and robotic partial nephrectomy. He is also actively involved in diagnostic urology, treatment of urological infections, and penoscrotal conditions. Currently, he is the clinical lead for the Department of Urology at Broomfield Hospital and has contributed to pioneering research projects to improve patient outcomes.

Mr. Sanjaya Kalkur is a highly experienced consultant gynaecologist working at various Hospitals in Essex. He originally trained in medicine in India at one of the country’s leading institutions before undertaking further training in Belfast at an outstanding tertiary hospital. Mr. Kalkur then underwent higher-level specialist training in gynaecology from world-renowned universities and hospitals such as St. Mary’s and Chelsea Hospital London, giving him exceptional experience, especially in minimal access surgery techniques.

After completing his specialist training, Mr. Kalkur undertook a fellowship focused on Gynaecological Oncology at Oxford University, learning under some of the world’s most prestigious experts in this field. In 2012, he was appointed a consultant at the NHS Southend Hospital, where his specific areas of interest are:

  • Outpatient Hysteroscopy,
  • Gynaecological cancers,
  • Minimal access surgery (keyhole surgery)
  • Hysterectomy,
  • Colposcopy
  • Menopause management (HRT treatment)

He has 20 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and holds accreditation in Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic Surgery for the treatment of fibroids, pelvic pain, endometriosis, infertility, and menstrual disorders, as well as early-stage endometrial cancers. He is one of the very few British Menopause Society (BMS)-recognised menopause specialists in Essex.

Mr. Kalkur believes that patient choice is important and offers a range of treatment options to empower patients to reach suitable treatment decisions that are tailored to their individual needs. He is committed to providing high-quality care for all his patients and giving them adequate time to understand the nature of their problems.

Miss Akila Karthikeyan is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a special interest in advanced minimal access gynaecology, gynaecological oncology and early pregnancy/gynaecological scanning.


She is currently the lead for Gynaecological cancer and the Royal college of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists tutor at North Middlesex hospital, London. She obtained her medical degree from Coimbatore Medical College, India and completed her specialist training leading to CCT Certificate of completion of training in East of England deanery.

She specialised in several advanced training modules including Labour ward management, Benign abdominal surgery, early pregnancy and gynaecological scanning and medical education during her training.


She is an avid teacher of Gynaecological surgery and an Assistant professor at St Georges school of Medicine, Grenada and in her current role as College tutor, she supervises senior trainees who undergo the advanced training module ATSM in gynaecological surgery offered by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists RCOG. She has published in international journals and attends national and international conferences to keep up to date with her knowledge.

She is passionate about individualised healthcare catering to the needs of each woman. Minimally invasive procedures help women to recover quickly and with my skills, I can provide holistic care for women. 

Her specific area of interests are women with endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, early pregnancy problems, Menopause, Hormone replacement therapy HRT and period problems, general gynaecological reviews including cervical smears, genital swabs for
infection and initial fertility investigations. And performing operations like, hysteroscopy both outpatient and in patient and removal of polyps/fibroids, keyhole hysterectomies/ removal of ovarian cysts, early pregnancy and gynaecological scanning.

Dr Shabeena Sayid Masuthu

Dr Masuthu has more than 16 years of experience working in Dermatology and was the Clinical lead for Community Dermatology Clinics in Southend, Essex. She has worked across various Community Dermatology clinics across Essex and also shares her expertise in Teledermatology as well.
She has lectured locally to the GP community on various skin conditions.
Dr Masuthu is a member of the PCDS and EADV and keenly attends and participates in the various conferences and events.

She is passionate about patient care and having a positive experience, making sure that adequate time is given for decision making. She believes that information is key to making the right choices and by taking time to listen carefully to client needs a tailor-made and personalised treatment plan is devised.
