Mole Mapping
Procedure
Mole mapping is a non-invasive technique used to document and monitor moles and other skin lesions over time. It is especially valuable for individuals with numerous moles, a personal or family history of skin cancer, or concerns about changes in their skin.
Using high-resolution photography, this service creates a visual record of your skin, allowing any future changes in moles to be detected early—supporting prompt investigation and intervention if needed.
What to Expect at the Clinic:
- On arrival, you’ll be welcomed by our receptionist and asked to complete a Medical History form
- Our Specialist Doctors will discuss your skin concerns, medical history, and the reason for mole mapping
- High-resolution images of your moles will be taken in a private, comfortable setting
- These images will be stored securely to form a baseline for future comparison
- After the session, you’ll receive general skin care advice and aftercare instructions
- A follow-up appointment will be scheduled—usually annually—to monitor for any changes
If any moles appear suspicious, Doctors here at Skinsense may recommend further investigation such as a skin biopsy or referral to a specialist.
