So, what is this miracle procedure – HIFU?

HIFU is high intensity focused ultrasound that works within the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate the formation of new collagen and to tighten the skin. A hand piece is placed onto your skin and held in one area at a time and the ultrasound waves are then pulsed into the skin, the main layer that is targeted is called the SMAS layer which is the Superficial muscular aponeurotic system which is the same layer of the skin which is targeted when they perform a surgical face lift.

When HIFU is being carried out, a slight vibration and warmth can be felt during the procedure, this highly focused acoustic energy creates thermal coagulation zones at three different selected depths which then creates wound healing within the skin, promoting collagen synthesis/formation and immediate contraction and longer term tightening of the face and neck. HIFU is also great on other parts of the body to create lifts such as on the buttocks to create a “bum lift”.

It works the best on what is referred to as the “turkey neck” or double chin that is not actually too much fat in the area but more of loose skin that needs tightening up.

What’s even more exciting, is that it is a ONE off treatment! On the day you can expect to see a 30% improvement immediately post treatment and as the weeks pass your results will continue to improve as new collagen is built by the body and healing takes place.
